About the Company
Our large NSW State Government client protects, promotes and supports the rights, dignity, choices and wishes of the vulnerable people of NSW. They do this by providing multidisciplinary services including Will-making, estate planning, executorship, trustee, financial management and guardianship services.
About the Role
They are currently seeking an experienced Legal Administration Officer to join their team in Sydney CBD OR Newcastle + WFH. This is an estimated 5month temporary assignment, with a potential to extend.
Working within the Estate Administration team, you will be required to administer between 40-70 Deceased Estates at various stages whilst providing empathetic and professional support to stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact, delivering professional and empathetic customer service
- Answering enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
- Facilitate the resolution of complaints
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and events
- Interpretation of Wills and other legal documents.
- Gather, collate and submit applications to courts.
- Preparing formal letters to banks, insurance agencies, financial institutions, and other government agencies.
- Preparation of high level documentation including minutes, agenda’s, correspondence, file closure and safe custody of document processes and presentation materials
- Paying claims and preparing distributions of estate assets to beneficiary
- Provide regular communication and updates to beneficiaries.
- Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Work closely with taxation, legal and professional services, property teams and subject matter experts.
- Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements
About You

- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task competing deadlines/timeframes.
- High attention to detail
- Solid analytical, investigative and problem solving skills
Requirements
- Demonstrated Legal or Finance Sector experience essential
- Previous experience within a complex/sensitive environment
- Willingness to complete a National Police Check
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
